FOURTH SCOTTISH NATIONAL PAIRS TITLE IN FIVE YEARS FOR THE BAILLIE SISTERS

FOURTH SCOTTISH NATIONAL PAIRS TITLE IN FIVE YEARS FOR THE BAILLIE SISTERS
29th July 2013

For the East Lothian duo it was also the third consecutive year that they had taken the silverware, once again getting the better of the West Lothian pairing of Sandra Steven and Kirsteen McLellan from the Uphall Station club, thanks to a wonder draw bowl from skip Lauren.

On the last end, Uphall held the shot that would have taken them to an extra end playoff, but Lauren drew an inch perfect toucher to avert the immediate danger and take the title 15-13.

It was a double final disappointment for the Uphall Station twosome - they had lost in the two bowl triples title decider earlier in the week along with clubmate Anne Muirhead to the Orbiston trio of Kirsty Ann Gardinar, Nora Lennon and Rita Blair 9-2, 11-1.

Orbiston won the inaugural title back in 2008 at Bainfield against Queen's Park.
